Privacy Statement

Cosmos Yachting offers an online yacht booking system through our website as well as through other online platforms such as partners' websites and social media. Your privacy is important to us, and we mean it. We always act in our customers' interest, and we are clear and transparent about our process of your personal data. Here we describe how we use and process your personal data.

We may amend the Privacy Statement from time to time. If you care to visit this page regularly, you'll know exactly where you stand. If we make changes to the Privacy Statement which will have an impact on you (such as GDPR), we will notify you of these changes before the new activities begin. If you disagree with our Privacy Statement, you should stop using our services. If you agree, we are great to go and sail together.

What kind of personal data does Cosmos Yachting collect?

This is the usual stuff — your name, preferred contact details, and any other important information regarding your holiday (for example your arrival time to the marina, so the boat will be ready for you).

You may also be asked to provide a review to help other sailors and guests get exactly what they're looking for. We will collect information from you contained in your reviews, including your name and the content of your review. In addition to this, we also collect information from your computer, phone, tablet, or other device you are using to access our services. This might include the IP address, currency preferences, the browser you use, and your language settings. All this is to help us to customize our site, so you find everything easily.

Depending on the reservation, we may also ask for your address, telephone number, payment information, date of birth, and the names of guests sailing with you. Please make sure any guests travelling with you are aware of this.

There are also situations in which we receive information about you from others or automatically; for example, from our partners, you may be in contact with. Our services might be integrated with other travel partners as well to make the yacht booking system available in every country.

Why does Cosmos Yachting collect and use your personal data?

We want you to have a perfect and stress-free holiday, so when you use Cosmosyachting.com we make sure you understand how we might contact you or how we can help by ensuring your holiday will be planned well. For example, we may ask for a crew list, so you don't have to queue in the marina, filling this information in last minute.

We might also collect your information to understand which language you speak and the best way to contact you. Another example of why we collect data is for marketing, where we want to present our content as relevant for you as possible or keep you updated with the best sailing deals around.

For any questions, please contact us at [email protected].

We might share this information with relevant third parties. The primary purpose is to process your yacht reservation, share data relevant to your sailing holiday, or validate the accuracy (for example email address you provided during the reservation). Any third-party service providers are bound by confidentiality clauses and are not allowed to use your personal data for purposes other than instructed by us. When you make a reservation on a business partners' website, please also take the time to read their privacy notice if you wish to understand how these business partners may process your personal data.

When you use a credit card to make your reservation, we need to share certain reservation details with the payment service provider and the relevant financial institution to handle this payment.

We might need to disclose personal data with competent authorities, including law enforcement authorities, as it is required by law or is strictly necessary for the prevention, detection, or prosecution of criminal acts or fraud, or if we are otherwise legally obliged to do so. We may need to further disclose personal data to competent authorities to protect and defend our rights or the rights of our business partners.

We never sell or rent your data to anyone else.
