Sailing insights
Sailing in Cuba is a captivating experience, with generally calm seas and steady trade winds. The southern coast, particularly around Cienfuegos, provides access to a vast cruising ground of sheltered cays and open-water passages, suitable for sailors with intermediate experience.
Cuban sailing offers a rare glimpse into a world preserved in time. Navigating the southern coast reveals a string of pristine, uninhabited cays (keys) and the world-renowned Jardines de la Reina (Gardens of the Queen) marine park. While navigational aids can be sparse, the rewards are immense: secluded anchorages, vibrant coral reefs, and encounters with authentic Cuban culture in coastal towns.
